Get Glowing Summer Skin & Beach Wave Hair
SUMMER SKIN AND HAIR EDIT
All you need to get your summer glow on is a great looking self-tan and beach wave hair. Well, this is easier said than done. Summertime is harsh and my skin always acts out. Even at this age. The challenge of protecting my skin from harmful rays while letting it breathe is real, and when you throw in self-tanning, this just adds to the complications. It’s a challenge to protect, exfoliate, moisturize, and self-tan. 🙂 With all the sweat and humidity, my hair is even more of challenge in the summertime, as it just goes completely flat, which is the opposite of beachy waves.
That being said, today I wanted to share some of my favorite summer products for a moisturizing natural looking self-tan and beachy hair.
If you want a fast beautiful moisturized glow, I absolutely love this tanning oil. It really serves a double purpose because it hydrates my skin and adds the tanned glow. It also dries pretty fast. I wear a lot of white, so it does transfer off a bit. If you’re looking for more of a gradual build, I love this oil and I don’t notice it rubbing off on my pretty summer white clothes as much. I also love their self-tanning face oil.
SUMMER HAIR
My hair just goes flat in the summertime with all the sweat and humidity. My favorite product line that I discovered last summer–and even my husband likes it–is EVO. My Husband loves this salty dog styling spray. It smells so good. I like their dry shampoo and root booster as well.
If you want to go to sleep and wake up with waves, I love using this no-heat roller with my trusted Aveda styling foam. I’ve been using this stuff for over 10 years, and it’s never let me down (literally ;)), as long as I don’t have too much oil in my hair.
I just let my hair air dry, then brush a generous amount of the foam in my hair, and then neatly wrap my hair in this no-heat wave maker. About five hours later I’ll have waves in my hair.
SELF TAN TIPS
My number one tip for self-tanning is that oils are most forgiving. Did you know dry skin is what causes the self-tan to look clumpy around your ankles, feet, elbows, etc. That’s why it’s so important to moisturize! And it’s all the more reason why I love the self-tanning oils.
My two favorites serve different purposes. First up: for a fast tan that also moisturizes, this product is the best. For a tan that’s gradual and doesn’t transfer to your clothes, I love this product for the face and body.
Bottom line: If you want a great looking self-tan, you’ve got to do two things:
1- Exfoliate
2-Constantly moisturize
Today I want to share the products I’m loving for self-tanning and creating beachy wavy hair with minimal effort.
On a personal note, this year has flown- literally feels like the fastest year of my life. I’ve had a lot of personal stuff change the way I have to prioritize my life, and so I’ve been approaching my blog differently and trying to find a new normal.
On a happier note, we went on a fun family trip to Europe, and I’ll be sharing about that soon–just wanted to start catching up again. Hope you’re all enjoying the summer and taking good care.
Thanks for visiting!
